In celebration of the formation our first ever partnership (where we somewhat disgracefully, for reasons unremembered, decided to skip Sunday School and have kaya toast instead), Pardna and I skipped our own bible study and sneaked off to catch a movie. In truth it was a common consensus to forgo the our first Dig Deeper session and follow our sudden whim to watch a show; due to a combination of unforeseen factors like the remoteness that is Jurong Point, a sudden influx of horror/gore movies, and the fact that Sweeney Todd only previews next week, we ended up watching Le Grand Chef, which wasn't too bad after all. My sister will be so proud because its a Korean show. At least no one gets cancer in this one. Well all in all a tru-antly fun night!

Be part of my mini social revolution against Facebook. It's quite simple, really, you just don't join. This has to be the most passive revolution ever – in fact, let's call it an unrevolution. All hail the Facebook Unrevolution!
Laziness has never had a more noble cause.
我要再回去Liannan!
With reference to the photo below, I really do miss those times and those guys. The feeling of waking up in the morning with your toes almost freezing off, trudging into damp cold streets off to do "the day's work" somehow all seemed better just doing it with them. (Yeeah Oh Yeah!)
Looking back, I think we all still can't quite believe the crazy amount of stuff we did there. Learning the Yao language; trying to learn the traditional dance; visiting old folks' homes; countless home visits; primary school interactions; meeting secondary school kids; having a mini-Sunday service; helping out at ATC's Open Day/Christmas party (hohoho!); 10 hour van rides; getting stopped by policemen along the way; being stranded on the highway for over an hour... Well, you get the point. And if I add that we did that all in Chinese, that pretty much makes it a miracle.
Like I've been telling anyone who will listen, this trip has really been great because I've been able to see people – be it the workers there, Christians, sponsored kids, their parents – and a little glimpse of what goes on in their lives. Wen Bao, Ah Lian, Moses, Peter, Karis, Brother Yang, they aren't just names and faces anymore, they're people who need our prayer! Actually, I can't quite explain it, you really have to go to know what I'm talking about.
40 pairs of ears heard the gospel, 10 hearts accepted. To Him be all glory and praise.
And if all that isn't enough to convince you that China is the place to be, go watch the really cool snake-killing video. Hahahaha.
Yeah Oh Yeahhh

I think I am officially annoyed with people blasting music from their mobiles on the bus/train. Especially Japanese rock-band tunes which sound like they come from the Daytona soundtrack. (Which they probably do.) Yes, I know your superior mp3-playing, Wi-Fi-enabled, 1000 mega-pix phone is openly sneering at my poor ol' Nokia 6610i – but come on, I'm sure it came with earphones too.

Hello, 2008 – I suppose I never really got down to acknowledging you, so, hi!
Now excuse me for a moment while I pay my respects to what we now know as "last year". With December being freshest in my mind, it's hard to look back on the rest of year and remember everything that's happened – in a very paltry nutshell: meeting someone(s) new, being amazed by God, and feeling for the people in Liannan. (I told you December was prevalent.)
Okay, sorry, I am not doing justice to so many people and so many things, but forgive me, its 2am and I have a short memory.
That being said, I hope I never forget just how many things I learnt to trust God with this year – from school projects to leading BAY camp groups, from The Walk to sharing the gospel in Chinese (miracle of miracles!), from staying alone in hall to my grades – and more importantly, how He was always faithful. So... Thanks, God!
Bah, I'm terrible at summaries, aren't I?
Well, guess it's back to you, 2008.

Tonight.
How I wish we could throw it all
And run away, say we'll live on pennies
In cheap hotels
How I know you're aching
Is how I read your eyes, the quickest glance
With forever inside
How do you make it seem
So easy to smile, well the worlds been
Waiting for you all this while
How I say nothing
But don't mean it at all, is so when this
Dream's over, you'll have learnt
How to fall
