Two days in February
I've been on a perpetual Goo Goo Dolls binge for the past week, consisting of one magnificently awesome (and I am not kidding at all) Live in Buffalo concert DVD and a whole playlist dedicated to them entirely, which has been on an unending loop for quite awhile. Of course the fact that Johnny Rzeznik is freaking hot is a nice little bonus. (But a bonus only, see?). So, just a warning, if you catch me humming odd snatchets of song under my breath, its just the side-effects of my little GGD debauchery.
On the other hand, even Johnny can't speed up time fast enough for me right now.
But sometimes they are real?
It's been a long time since I've felt this way - it's strange and scary and superbly thrilling all at once, and I can't even articulate it well enough. But it's good for now.
Tired of faux-romances.
I suppose I havent mentioned this before, but I have somewhat of a Valentines' Day curse - owing to the fact that I've never ever had a date on this particular god-forsaken day which someone sometime decided everyone should have a date on. Anyhow, this year feels slightly different (mainly because I'll be spending the rest of the day doing up my 3D project which is, annoyingly, due tomorrow), but also because the annually inevitable spikes of anti-romanticism have sorta taken a backseat this year. I won't pretend I don't cringe inwardly, still, at couples holding hands and giggling as they sweep past me, their heart-shaped balloons beating a rhythm against my face - but at least I give a decent it's-alright-I'm-fine-with-being-pounded-by-balloons smile. Of course, being stuck in the Sem Room past midnight yesterday wrapping huge heart-shaped candles and writing mushy love notes for people does wonders for quelling apathy. ..Kinda.
One-Click Fantasy.
How did I not discover Widgets earlier? Hot damn!
Singapore Gaga
I suppose it's time I typed something of past events here so that when I'm old and wrinkled, I won't be forgetting any of this. (That is, of course, assuming Blogger doesn't crash or decide to close down in the next 70 years.) I suppose also that starting from Mike's wedding would be a good landmark - yes, Mike and Cynthia officially tied the knot on 27th Jan, but I really typed that just so I could say I designed their wedding card. (Yeah thanks, I know it's gorgeous lol.) What can I say? Congrats (and so on)! Of course, not forgetting the most interesting part of the entire process - the stag party! (Yes, I was there, don't ask why.) What can I say now? Alot, really, but I shaln't - I'll just hold on to the incriminating evidence until such a time warrants its appearance. Heheh.
Scrolling forward a few days to last night, Happy Birthday sister! She had the surprise of her life last night because of my brilliant plan involving lots of Oscar-worthy acting, placing my house keys in dubious hands, people springing up from behind my furniture, and of course, a sexy pair of heels. Thanks everyone who came - in my sister's own words, "Tralala!".
Watched Singapore Gaga in the ADM library theatre with Sing Ying this afternoon, it was excellent and I loved it to bits. We spent close to half an hour trying to work the gadgets that would startup the CPU that would evoke the projector that would summon the sound system and so on - but I must say it was worth it, what with the big screen, soundproof walls, plush carpet and all.
Now I've just come back from the Singapore-Thailand match at Kallang, and, boy, was it eventful. If you don't already know, Singapore was given a last-minute penalty (and, apparently, an invalid one), and the whole Thai team walked off the pitch in protest. Srsly, I would've thought the land that came up with Muay Thai would have more sportsmanship than that. Anyway, you can picture the scenario - loads of jeers, boos, taunts and the lot - most of which are unfit for an audience of below 18. All in all, a historic event in ASEAN football history, wouldn't you agree?
I've had a rather fascinating week, you know.
